It might be helpful to specify how often a regular expression is expected to be found. If the numbers differ DynConf should throw an error because the update might have added new configuration options that might not be handled correctly.

Find out if apt also has a .*new scheme for configuration files.

Some configuration files use a hierarchical format where a single line might be interpreted differently based on the context:

[data]
dir = "..."
[tmp]
dir = "..."

Currently all regular expressions are applied to a single line so these cases cannot be handled.

Proposal: Add optional keys after and before (naming to be decided) to allow specifying regular expressions that have to be match before / must not be found before the actual search expression.

dynconf should autocomplete its subcommands.
