HackYourJavaScript

What is JavaScript?

JavaScript is a programming language that adds interactivity to your website (for example: games, responses when buttons are pressed or data entered in forms, dynamic styling, animation).

Read this intro article on JavaScript

This JavaScript course is divided in three modules. Starting from the simple uses and understanding the basics to the more complex features of the language.

Module goals:

A basic program with multiple functions (reacting to user input)

A tool capable of loading a JSON file and representing it in the DOM

A web app with external data source using at least one API

Overall

A good understanding of all the above mentioned topics. Want to check your Knowledge?
Go through the JavaScript Fundamentals readme and research/ask for help (Slack!) with the concepts that are not entirely clear.

javascript's Issues

Should get condensed back to 3 weeks

Let's look at how we can merge week 9+10 back together with input from Benjamin and Pankaj. The 4 week layout could result in confusion further down the line.

JS2: Fix outdated and broken content

Proposed changes

Needs discussion/help

  1. ✅ Right now we're testing projects instead of the homeworks. I propose we write some kind of notice at the top of the homework sections to make it clear, and link to something else for further information.
    Decision: Agreed
  2. Readme format for every module looks different (at least not very consistent). Maybe we should decide on a template and use it everywhere?
Decision: Agreed, I'll propose something as part of this ticket I've decided to create a new issue for this to not block this one (https://github.com/orgs/HackYourFuture-CPH/projects/8/views/7?pane=issue&itemId=69514442).

Intended changes

  1. ✅ Small wording and link fixes
  2. ✅ Fix broken homework info links (copy it from a working module)"Check this out before you get into some git confusion" at top of every homework page
"hand in homework" sections at bottom of homework pages - Related #173
  3. ✅ "If you have any feedback to this specific homework" survey link broken, week3 homework.md. The form has deleted, so I'm just going to remove it. All the links to the "end of module" surveys are there and working.
