This project will eventually be distributed as a yocto image for raspberry pi.

I want a nice GUI that more or less imitates the original BC-780-XLT in appearance.

Can this be achieved with TkInter? Need a small proof of concept. Buttons. Volume knob. Dynamically update "screen".

RTL-SDR experiments

BC-780-XLT frequency range is 25 MHz to 1.3 GHz (inclusive). North American models have the usual coverage gap, but radios for other markets do not. The frequency range of 25 MHz to 1.3 GHz (and beyond) is readily achievable by most RTL-SDR dongles.

BC-780-XLT will demodulate AM, FM (NFM, WFM) emitters and "trunking" radios. Need simple proof of concept demonstrations.

2. Commercial FM Broadcast (WFM)
3. Police or Business (NFM)
4. Police or Business (Trunk)
