Puppet module for installing and configuring Redis

I'm fairly doubtful that this is a real issue, but I can't find a way around it, so here goes.
I'm trying to do the basic redis install. All I have in my hiera file is:
---
redis::version: 2.8.12
When I run by using puppet apply in my vagrant image I get the following:
Debug: importing '/etc/puppet/modules/redis/manifests/init.pp' in environment production
Debug: Automatically imported redis from redis into production

After doing some Googling I was led to run the puppet parser validate on the file, instance.pp:
vagrant@sensu01:/etc/hieradata/production$ puppet parser validate /etc/puppet/modules/redis/manifests/instance.pp
Error: Could not parse for environment production: Syntax error at '.'; expected '}' at /etc/puppet/modules/redis/manifests/instance.pp:130
I'm pretty new to puppet and don't see an obvious syntax error. Just curious if you have ever seen anything like this before. I've run this puppet parser validate on Mac OS X with puppet 3.6.2 and Debian 7 with puppet 3.4.3 and gotten the same results both times.
