Should return the messages in a square (minLat, maxLat, etc), sorted based on the following parameters:

1. kudosUpWeight - X1
2. kudosDownWeight - X2
3. replyCountWeight - X3
4. timeFactor - X4
5. powerTimeFactor - X5

With the formula:

(kU * X1 + kD * X2 + rC * X3) * X4 ^ (X5 / (currentTime - lastReplyTime))

This way we can tweak our formula to figure out exactly what weights work best for the user, and we can also get messages based on distance as opposed to rooms.

The client will send you the specified jid. The server returns back # of kudos/posts/replies for the specified user.

when a user signs up for the 1st time, they get null as the badge number

The client will send the current user's latitude/ longitude, and desired distance and the server will store these values. Then, when messages come in the server should send these messages to users who are close to this location. Also, the distance value can be a square approximation to save on computing time.
