PMU Connection Tester

The PMU Connection Tester is a Windows GUI application used to validate, test and trouble‐shoot connections and data streams from phasor measurement devices as well as graphically visualize their synchophasor data in real‐time.

Overview

The PMU Connection Tester verifies that the data stream from any known phasor measurement device is being received. Device types that can be tested through the PMU Connection Tester application may include:

• Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU)
• Phasor Data Concentrator (PDC)
• Digital Fault Recorder (DFR)
• Power Quality Meter (PQ)

Any device that supports one of the following phasor protocols may be tested:

• IEEE C37.118.2-2011
• IEEE C37.118-2005 (Version 1/Draft 7, Draft 6)
• IEC 61850-90-5 (starting with version 4.3)
• IEEE 1344-1995
• BPA PDCstream (Revisions 0, 1, and 2, including PDCxchng formatted data)
• UTK F-Net
• SEL Fast Message
• Macrodyne (M and G starting with version 4.3)

Deployment

Is it possible to export the Sample1344.PmuCapture as a csv file?

Is it possible to play the Sample1344.PmuCapture thru the local host rather then the file option

I would like to run the Sample1344.PmuCapture through the local host rather then using the file Option, is this possible?

Add new setting for `DisableRealTimeDataOnStop`

As this is a newly added MPFP property for handling primary / secondary split serial connections where the data stream needs to stay running for secondary connection when primary connection is shutdown.

61850-90-5 version 2

Hi!

Is version 2 of 61850-90-5 supported? It is described in 61850-8-1:2011 + AMD1:2020 (appendix J).

IEEE1344-1995 UDP Multicast not working in 4.5.11 whereas it is working in 4.4.0 version

IEEE1344-1995 UDP Multicast not working in 4.5.11 whereas it is working in 4.4.0 version. It Show Exception : Data channels user unhandled expection : Only one usuage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted. And when we enable real-time data, we get Exception : Index was outside the bounds of the array.

IEEE C37.118-2005 UDP Mode Not Streaming openPDC TESTSTREAM

I was working through a repeatable exercise that demonstrates and tests the openPDC and PMU Connection Tester setup. The exercise is documented here and the step I am referencing is here

To make Latest openPDC Stable Release work with Latest PMU Connection Tester Release, I have to disable the UDP protocol per troubleshooting discussion here. In other words, I could not get it to work as expected with minimal deviation from a clean installation in a repeatable configuration procedure. I tried testing openPDC and PMU Connection Tester on the same machine with Windows Firewall turned Off. I have not yet tried 2 channel testing over a network (enabling both TCP and UDP ports). I figured I need to get it working on the same local machine first. I have not yet tried the openPDC nightly build.

I'm not sure if this is a PMU Connection Tester or an openPDC issue. The reason I suspect that it is an Issue is because the 2-channel TCP/UDP configuration for the openPDC TESTSTREAM is the default configuration - and the openPDC Getting Started documentation shows an explicit example of the PMU Connection Tester with 2 channel configuration here.
