Install script moved in docker container

After the merge from the 'extended-dev' the install script is not available to the docker container 'web'

So the installation instructions in the Wiki do not reflect the changes made in the merge

The correct path should be:

docker exec social_web bash /var/www/dev-scripts/install/install_script.sh

Build instruction don't work in Ubuntu

I tried to build the docker environment on Ubuntu, but this doesn't work. The mounts to the 'drupalsocial_web' container aren't available.

Couldn't find a solution yet, if I find out, I wil post it here.

docker-compose up fails while creating social_cron service

I just checked out this repository in an effort to test open social. When running docker-compose up, it errors out while creating social_cron.

Just in case it was the config.json permissions error I still haven't taken time to really try and fix, I ran docker-compose up with sudo. It did not help.

Can't install - commerceguys/zone module required

Using composer to install address module (1.0) and dependencies (composer require "drupal/address ~1.0" --prefer dist), the commerceguys/zone folder in the vendor directory is created properly. But I cannot install open-social because I keep getting "The Address module requires the commerceguys/zone library; For more information check our readme." I'm stumped! Thanks for any help you can offer!

Credentials for open social admin account

I have installed Open Social in Openshift. I'm not sure if I was given a random password with my admin account during the installation.

Is there any chance that I can retrieve the account, knowing that I don't have Drush command on the server?

Or can we request for drush to be included in the git repo?

web docker won't start if blackfire credentials are not set

The newly added (#335) blackfire container can't start if it doesn't have any server credentials.

If the blackfire container can't start then docker will prevent the web container from starting as well.

Composer Issues with `composer install -v`

Hi there!!

I had an odd issue and was curious if any of you have ran across it. I clone this repo and simply just run composer install -v (with verbosity). I get the following:

It seems there is an issue with composer when specifying the verbosity then it won't apply the patches. Have you ran into this?

Committing the .lock file.

Hi there!

I had a small question I was curious about and it was to do with Open Social not committing the composer.lock file.

I noticed for the platform.sh example you are committing the composer.lock but not for the docker build + default build. I was just curious if this was done intentionally?

Compile sass files

Hi there,

Is there a standard procedure for compiling sass files for a subtheme base off socialbase?

Error editing profile after new registration

I created a test user on my site. After successfully registering and confirming the email, I click on the pencil icon to edit profile and fill in the details. When I click Save, it brings me to page mysite.com/user/3/profile and displays the following message on a blank white space page:
The website encountered an unexpected error. Please try again later.

Also, I am not sure why it skipped to user 3 when I only have admin account and the test account I created, so it should be user/2/profile, correct?

Any ideas?

Slow performance...

The default boot2docker uses vboxsf mounted folders and these are way slower compared to nfs.
Using https://github.com/adlogix/docker-machine-nfs sped up the performance of the mounts enormous. From unworkable, to reasonable fast.

An update to the Install page

it seems that on the install page, we need to change from this:

Internal page cache and Internal dynamic page cache disabled by default

When install Open Social profile Internal page cache and Internal dynamic page cache is disabled by default.

Why? Drupal standard profile enables page cache by default. Disable it's only useful when you use Memcache or external caches, and most sites do not use.

behat not found in dev install

Hi,

i have installed open social using the instructions here (https://github.com/goalgorilla/drupal_social/wiki/Installing-and-updating with the one amendment noted in the other issue). It runs fine.

When i goto run the Behat unit tests, following these instructions (https://github.com/goalgorilla/drupal_social/wiki/How-to-run-the-Behat-tests-locally), and i get an error:

has the docker install perhaps changed since the instructions were written?

image styles not generated correctly when installing demo content

I tried to install demo content with drush today and don't get images displayed when the cpmmand is done. If I click on an image file in a picer of content the image is shown so it seems image stiels donÄt apply correctly.

Failed to create docker container

I am trying to install the latest version of Open Social docker image from this link on server but it fails.

This is the successful output when I install the image:

The current Readme.md docker instructions state to run:

A quick docker-compose ps indicates that my web container is called drupalsocial_web_1:

Gulp errors in gulp-sass

Running Gulp results in two errors:

Provide `docker-compose` alternative

Installation guide uses docker compose and there is no mention to docker-compose.

Since docker compose is not necessarily available in each machine, in the case that the installation runs with docker-compose as well as docker compose, it is worth to be mentioned.

Otherwise, this will potentially block the steps a user is taking in setting up their Open Social instance.

Failure during installation - missing dependency

I'm trying to install OpenSocial on OpenShift. In theory this should work, but I'm running into some problems.

I appreciate that you are probably not able to give advice on the matters relating to OpenShift, but perhaps you can see what or where the problem is.

Using Php 7 OpenShift template

In OpenShift, click on Add to Project > PHP > Version 7.0.
*This uses a S2I container to build a PHP application. The S2I is located at https://github.com/sclorg/s2i-php-container/blob/master/7.0/README.md

NB: I also tried using Php 5.6 but go exactly the same error.

Docker Install instructions - Reverse Proxy issue.

Upon running the Docker instructions for starting the dev environment, the proxy container is failing with "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable nginx/1.11.6" when run with Docker for Mac. I followed the docker instructions exactly minus the docker-machine components as Docker machine is not present with Docker for Mac.

Zero issues when building, no errors.

Not able to edit path in default and custom views once create.

OpenSocial Version: 8.x-1.0-rc5
Core Version: Drupal 8.3.2

Path for a view only being able to be set at time of creating a view. After that, there is no way to change the path of an OpenSocial default view or custom view created post installation. When saving new path after editing the existing one, it gives an error Path is empty.

No error is logged in the error log. This issue doesn't exist in default Drupal 8 of the same version.

Installation fails with "Drupal is already installed" translated in the chosen language.

I want to reference this issue. I confirmed this behavior by installing Open Social at platform.sh. Could be interesting for you, too.
