gnome-wallpaper-changer's Issues

[feature request] please support a pallete cycling format

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I'd love if the project could support this old technique of animation where the images don't actually change, just the color of pixels to support a animation. It's supposedely very lightweight and you can make effects that are timebased

Here is a example of what i mean: http://www.effectgames.com/demos/worlds/

click show options and move the time slider

Describe the solution you'd like
This technique is supposedly much more efficient that gifs or videos, which is the usual excuse for these never happening, so i though that this could be a nice alternative, even if with less images. I'm unsure if there is a actual format dedicated to this technique though.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Gifs obviously, but i kind of wonder, since it would require a dedicated thread from all that i understand of it. Maybe this would too, but since it's 'just' a palette switch, i think it might be more efficient than replacing the whole image.

Add support for sub-directories

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
No

Describe the solution you'd like
Allow directories to be recursively traversed to find wallpapers. This will allow better wallpaper organization, rather than just chucking them all in one big master directory.

Describe alternatives you've considered
N/A - I don't like messy directory structures :)
