atari_st_sources's Introduction

Atari ST source code repository

What is it?

A repository collecting source code for the Atari ST, STE, Mega ST, Mega STE, STBook, STacy, TT030 and Falcon030 (Wikipedia link).

How to get it?

Just clone the repository. Make sure to init the submodules while cloning (--recurse-submodules) so that you get the code from linked repositories.

How to use the code on this archive?

TODO (tl;dr: get some dev tools and dig in!)

How can I contribute?

  1. Upload your source somewhere and raise an issue
  2. E-mail the maintainer (ggnkua [at] gmail [dot] com) with archive(s) of files and optionally the location of the archive the files should be placed
  3. Fork the repository and create a pull request (note that the maintainer has no experience with this and is likely to mess up things. But hey we can try!)

atari_st_sources's Issues

A few new STart Magainze coverdisks have been dumped

Some issues of STart Magazine had interesting source code on their coverdisks. For a few months they used a weird format that was until now never dumped properly. The six affected issues are now available here:
https://archive.org/download/start_magazine_heidi_cover_disks/Disk%20Images/

Except for the last one (April 1990), they all seem to have source code that might be worth collecting. In particular the December 1989 issue includes the full source code for the RPG Avecta by Mark Swanson.

How can I contribute?

Hi ggn.

I have taken backups of most of my old Atari ST disks, and thought this might be a good place to save then for posterity.

How can I contribute?

amidilib is down

Hello,

I think you can remove these lines : the repo removed :

[submodule "C/Paweł Góralski n0kturnal/amidilib"]^M
        path = C/Paweł Góralski n0kturnal/amidilib^M
        url = https://github.com/n0kturnal/amidilib.git^M

Not all Git submodules can be fetched

Some git submodules fail do be fetched when doing a git clone --recurse-submodules. I.e. in C/Christian Zietz/uip-tools i get the error

fatal: remote error: upload-pack: not our ref 6f392786a147fd9e4a065c04bc7d74ce7c247353
fatal: the remote end hung up unexpectedly
Fetched in submodule path 'C/Christian Zietz/uip-tools', but it did not contain 6f392786a147fd9e4a065c04bc7d74ce7c247353. Direct fetching of that commit failed.

Same error also appears afterwards, when trying to do a git submodule update

CPU_MOD, Essay and other sources by Patrick Ruiz

Once upon a time I'd managed to contact Patrick Ruiz. He was very kind to release his CPU_MOD sources to public, in fact, he sent me all of his projects. Unfortunately I lost my mailbox from that time. Accidentaly, I found an old backup and voila! The most precise Atari MOD player's source code is not lost anymore! :)

Attaching as a ZIP because I'm not sure how / what you would like to copy.
