eb-garamond-initials's Issues

G and T missing from SVG folders ?

Hello !

I have noticed that there are no files for G and T in the SVG folders. Am I missing something and is this normal, or is it a bug or error somewhere ?

[Initials] Add Parentheses and Brackets

I normally think that sentences should not begin with parentheses or brackets, but I am typesetting an English translation of the Qur’ān with each chapter beginning with an initial capital with the EB Garamond Initials font, and some of the chapters begin with parentheses. Just like how EB Garamond Initials has support for guillemets and quotation marks, I think it should also support parentheses, brackets, and top half brackets (U+2E22 and U+2E23 respectively).

Error when using XeLaTeX, but working (with limitations) in LuaLaTeX

I'm testing the new initial fonts on LyX, but when I set the engine to use XeTeX, I get a "Missing glyph!" error with "Missing character: There is no (U+0020) in font EB Garamond Initials!" as description. If I switch to LuaTeX as engine, the document compile without problems, but the initial is too big and cover the next line. For example, if I set \setcounter{DefaultLines}{3} the character goes into the fourth line, covering the text.

test-initials-luatex

The preamble is quite simple: I activate the lettrine package (through a module on LyX) and then

\newfontfamily{\Iniciales}{EB Garamond Initials}
\renewcommand{\LettrineFontHook}{\Iniciales}
\setcounter{DefaultLines}{3}

Add coloured glyphs

This is suitable for EBGaramond-Initials and similar fonts. The implementation can be based on CPAL/COLR table.

Parentheses & Brackets Should Go Outside the Margin

Followup to #1. When typesetting drop caps, the initial letter should be flush left and opening quotation marks, guillemets, parentheses, and brackets should be outside the body text into the left margin. For this font, this is already the case for quotation marks and guillements, but not for the parentheses, brackets, and top half brackets.
