WMTS Layer, when used as an overlay gives a wrapDateLine error.Needs to be fixed.

In maps with OpenStreetMap as baselayer projection should be EPSG:3857 Spherical Mercator

This application is too hard to use and too hard to explain to users.

The following things has to be done to close this ticket:

• simplification to combine layers to a map (the coordinate reference system is too hard to explain) so some kind of automation is required to check for faults in inputs
• possibility to use map servers and only some or a few of the layers provided by that map server (map server is at the moment common interfaces required e.g. from geoserver and esri mapserver)
• write help texts on how to create layers

The attribution text should be under popup windows.

Adding a Geocoder to help navigate to specific areas will help in improving overall map functionality.

This URI is important as other services might want the user to choose from available maps.

Does the new version of maps support WMTS protocol? I do not see them in the sources, which is a major handicap for the services I am working on.

The world link now zooms to an arbitrary extent, this should be fixed to be more controlled or function better in some other way..

Write this in the wiki so that other developers/users can easily set up the application. Also describe how the admin interface works and usage guide for that.

Currently all layers are baselayers and therefore it is not possible to have layers on top of each other.

Currently we are violating the Terms of use/licence of OpenStreetMap and National Land Survey of Finland.
There should be an OpenLayers.Control.attribution on the map, which shows the license information.

Google Layers should be added.

The map tile size does not have any effect when used with arcgis cache layers. This is confusing for the user and problems with the map can be easily confused with wrong tile size. This is not a serious bug if you know how the application works but a difficult one to handle for non technical persons.

The point is that other applications is supposed to be able to choose which map to use from the maps application.

The javascript should use namespaces and not create global variables.

The max resolution of a map is often a floating point figure.
