I'm running my ubuntu machine on a tiny instance of AWS, could it be the reason ?

yes. you'll probably need more RAM. We've seen it run out of memory on a
small digital ocean instance, so AWS tiny is probably the same.

I confirm that EC2 micro instance installation fails. Large one working fine. Didn't tried another grades.

closing this as it's an issue with available RAM and not with the code.
