Rails Admin plugin to clone existing records, using amoeba dup

Installation

To enable rails_admin_amoeba_dup, add the following to your Gemfile:

gem 'rails_admin_amoeba_dup'

Add in your config/initializers/rails_admin.rb initializer the configuration:

RailsAdmin.config do |config|
  config.actions do
    dashboard
    index
    new
    export
    history_index
    bulk_delete
    show
    amoeba_dup   # Add the clone action
    edit
    delete
    history_show
    show_in_app
  end
end

History

Thanks to RailsAdminClone Gem gem, I learned about the Amoeba Gem one, in a project I needed an easy way to clone ActiveRecord objects including their associations, thus I decided to create this reusable rails_admin custom action

Setup

In the models you need cloning capabilities, add the mandatory amoeba block:

amoeba do
  enable
end

for further configurations, please see Amoeba Gem, there are tons of options there to help fine configuring your cloning needs.

Note: this gem shows the clone action only for actins for which the current_user is authorized and if the amoeba block enables the model class.
