kpiindicator's Introduction

KPI Indicator for Power BI

KPI Indicator by Fredrik Hedenström is used to visualize key performance indicators. The status is presented as a color indication, comparing the actual and target values. Deviation is presented as distance in percent of actual from target. The history (trend) is presented as a line or a bar chart. It is up to the user to decide the granularity of the data displayed. Any dimension attributes can be used, but it’s recommended to stick to the ones in your date dimension.

kpiindicator's Issues

Theming

Maybe a very basic question, but how I control the colours from my theme.json in power BI? Is there support for this?

Trend settings

Hi Fred,

Thanks for the great Custom Visual. Works fine!

Would you add few settings

  1. When trend is same for all the period, bar or line remains at bottom even if the values are 100%.
  2. If we can show Target line, if would be awesome (Analytics features).
  3. Minimum Trend setting: If we can show 1 bar/ 1 dot for single selected value. Trend disappears creating confusion.
  4. If Conditional formatting options are provided in detail.
  5. Option for making KPI Name blank.
  6. Highlighting Highest Point/Lowest Point in Trend.

Thanks in advance!

Regards
Nasir Shaikh

KPI Colors - Conditional Formatting

Hello, would it be possible to get the meanwhile usual "Conditional Formatting" Option also for the "KPI Colors" section in this visual to finally use measures (with rules) to steer the color coding? See e.g. new "KPI" standard MS visual (menu "color coding" as reference).

Aggregation method for averages

Hi there,

I'm wondering whether an enhancement could be made regarding the average aggregation type. I believe the overall average number displayed in the graph can be misleading. In my case, for example, I'm trying to display the average metric for each month of for a year's quarter (i.e, 3 months). The average for each month is properly calculated and displayed; however the overall aggregation for the year is doing an average of averages which is not ideal.
An example:
Jan: 2, 5, 7, 4; Avg = 4.5
Feb: 4, 3; Avg = 3.5
Mar: 6, 10, 5; Avg = 7
The monthly averages are displayed properly in the trend line. But the overall Average isn't:
Overall average (( 2+5+7+4+4+3+6+10+5))/9= 5.11 (What I wanted the KPI visual to display)
Average of averages ((4.5+3.5+7))/3 = 5 ( What is currently displayed in the KPI visual)

KPI Indicator Ghost line

Hi Team,

The indicator is working fine when there are values, when there are no values, the indicator is having a cache and still the line appears even though the selected KPI has not got any values in it, as shown in the attached screenshot. Could you please let us know a solution for this.
