A Linux-Sysadmin from Cologne, Germany. I try to contribute to awesome open source projects.

A few facts about myself:

• 🏢 I'm working for the german government and manage VMware clusters, automated Linux environments using Ansible and SaltStack combined with Red Hat Satellite / SUSE Manager.
• 🖥️ I mostly use macOS, since I'm a macOS nerd and support the current ARM movement heavily!
• 🤑 My homelab consists of one NAS (Synology DS218+), a Raspberry Pi 4 and an old HP Thin Client (t520). It used to be a lot bigger but power costs in Germany are insane.
• 📷 In my free time I do a lot of photography, go to the gym, play badminton or travel the world.

Not detecting if Spotify is closed

After the application start, the song gets detected correctly. But after closing Spotify while running the application, no output is given anymore.

Todo:

• Add a detection in the loop, if Spotify has been closed

Add text-formatting

Add text-formatting option (delimiter) for use with scrolling text in OBS.

For example:

DJ Flux - Gold Dust DJ Flux - Gold Dust

But with a delmiter:
DJ Flux - Gold Dust || DJ Flux - Gold dust

Add VLC support

Add VLC support. Maybe add a -vlc argument.

For example:
spotcurrent -vlc

Instead of:
spotcurrent

Support default location of spotify on arch

Spotify is installed by yay into /opt/spotify, not /usr/share/spotify.
My knowledge of bash is so far nearly nil, but checking both would add arch compatibility as well

Not working

Do you still support this app?
It generally starts, but shows that song is paused
I'm using ubuntu 22.04 LTS
