Workarounds

• Using a custom color scheme and ascent color on KDE Plasma. Requires restarting app after changing color scheme/ascent settings for it to apply. Related issue #3901. Note: This will also expose the GTK's bookmarks and servers files under ~/.config/gtk-3.0/ if they are present.

dark mode is broken

dark mode is fully broken in gtk apps

works for light mode but not for dark mode

Invoke `flatpak override --user --filesystem=xdg-config/gtk-3.0:ro` upon installation.

As demonstrated by the workarounds section, this package doesn't provide an easy installation. This is because

• installing from plasma-discover and flatpak install doesn't invoke this webpage, and
• the workarounds aren't enacted automatically.

Programmatic workarounds are the realm of developers. Not the target demographic of flatpak.

Strange coloration in Chromium based browsers... IE Brave, Chromium

I am using Fedora Kinoite and after having set flatpak override --user --filesystem=xdg-config/gtk-3.0:ro to enable dark mode, the buttons are colored way too dark.

This does not occur in Firefox flatpak. It seems specific to chromium based browsers.

Is there a way to fix this for dark mode? I don't like using the system title bars for my browsers because it seems like a waste of screen real estate. I am glad that I am actually able to make the title bar dark, but sometimes it is difficult to see the buttons.

Updating to the newest version resulted blurred titlebar buttons on Firefox

With the recent update of org.gtk.Gtk3theme.Breeze the Firefox flatpak titlebar buttons look bigger and blurred.

For now, as a temporary solution, I rolled back org.gtk.Gtk3theme.Breeze to the previous commit with flatpak update --commit.

Minimize, Maximize, and Close button big and blurry

On Flathub as of this written was introduced a change that made the window buttons bigger and blurrier than they should be which is very apparent on any window using a header bar.

Previous commit db4c7e416f560d7f1fa1de6252bbeed6821f53a0b46e1987d5508bc6a96cbe2f did not have this issue.

I get this message when I do updates via terminal:

Interactive buttons getting bigger.

Issue/odd behavior after update flatpak package.
Close, minimize and maximize buttons are huge.

Dark theme workaround does not work

With org.gtk.Gtk3theme.Breeze-Dark being EOL I looked into the alternative but it does not work for me.
I added the following override: flatpak override --user --filesystem=xdg-config/gtk-3.0:ro.

Which works for some apps but Electron apps (like Bitwarden or Postman) will still show a white title bar:

Cemu is also styled incorrectly:

I can get around the white title bar by setting sudo flatpak override --system --env=GTK_THEME=Breeze. Which will fix the title bars but not Cemu.

I cannot get around the Cemu issue without installing org.gtk.Gtk3theme.Breeze-Dark and setting GTK_THEME to Breeze-Dark.

Any ideas what the correct solution is?
