Source missing for 1.05 release

@flar2 First of all, thanks for your hard work on this project.

Can you please push the source for the 1.05 release you posted on xda? Or is there already a 1.05 release source package hosted somewhere else?
I'd like to develop some kernel modules that will load against this release, and I want to be certain they will be compatible.

Missing LTO/CFI on the compilation flags

Hi,

You are using the development version of the kernel compilation flags, resulting in you not enabling link time optimization and control flow integrity. There are important security mitigations. Can you enable these in your build config? Should improve performance at the cost of sightly longer build time.

Missing code

Hi @flar2 . Really good project!

I am trying to compile the kernel and develop some modules for Pixel 3a with Android 9, but I am facing two main problems.

  • The source code for ElementalX v1.06 posted as latest release for Android 9 is not referenced in the repository. Could you reference this branch?
  • Once the kernel is compiled, I wonder how to create the flashable zip with Anykernel3 since the "dtbo.img" file is not created when I compile v1.05. Could you please give a brief explanation about it?

Bootloop on Latest Patch

The latest security patch (November 2020) is causing a bootloop on my Pixel 3 XL. I'd provide logcat output, but it can't even get to the point in the boot that I can get ADB access.

The device is running Android 11 (build number RP1A.200720.009) rooted with Magisk 21.0.

Pixel 3 - WiFi call pegs CPUs to 100% speed, heats to 75c

Has anyone else noticed this?

I was on a call for about 30 minutes and noticed the phone getting hotter and hotter - and when I opened up EX Kernel Manager, saw all cores at full speed, and CPU temp of 75c.

Sitting idle at the EX Kernel Manager screen:

Kernel is P3-3.12 with Jan's Android update...

Pixel 3 boot hangs early with 3.17 (Stock+Magisk)

Attempting to use ElementalX-P3-3.17 (flashed via EX Kernel Manager) along with the June 5, 2021 stock build (blueline-rq3a.210605.005) and Magisk 23.0 results in a hang at the very initial Google logo that requires a forced power cycle into reflashing with a stock + Magisk boot.img to recover from. Had been working fine with 3.16, the May patch, and Magisk 22.1.
