How this works

A lambda returns a random programming related gif to be shown on my github page. This updates every few minutes as github's camo proxy is part of the site's rendering pipeline and provides some inescapable caching.

Terraform

The lambda, s3 bucket, api gateway, and related resources are configured in the /terraform directory.

Lambda

The lambda uses the giphy API with the search term "programmer" to return a random gif.

dx-tools's Issues

Adding tools

To start with, small tools can be added directly into this repo - we should discuss if we want larger tools to be in separate repos and then have this tool consume them.

The tools consumed could be defined directly in dx-tools or a user could choose which tools are used, a bit like plugins.

Command Ideas

• Status - git status, github PR checks status for this branch - if this branch has a pr it could show the github checks
  Could have different output if on main. Configurable
  Check the package.json for a repository or check the remote of the current local repo. If it is GitHub then offer to sign in to github. Later on we could use this shared code to check for GitLab or other credentials we may need for other commands.
