fiduswriter-ojs's Introduction

Fidus Writer

Fidus Writer is an online collaborative editor especially made for academics who need to use citations and/or formulas. The editor focuses on the content rather than the layout, so that with the same text, you can later on publish it in multiple ways: On a website, as a printed book, or as an ebook. In each case, you can choose from a number of layouts that are adequate for the medium of choice.

fiduswriter-ojs's Issues

Currently it's impossible to install fiduswriter-ojs if you are not a developer

Hi,

I'm trying to install fiduswriter-ojs, so I follow those steps:

  1. Installed FidusWriter using snap

  2. Start reading the fiduswriter-ojs repo instructions for the plugin installation and the pre-requisite is "Within a Python virtual environment", but according to this issue @johanneswilm makes clear that python venvs are not supported and snap is the only supported way.

Since instructions on how to install FidusWriter using snap does not exist, it makes impossible to install fiduswriter-ojs.

new small bugs in the second round of reviewing.

After review submits his comments, a fw-revision is created that editor will see and decides . Here, when editor selects a new round of OJS-revision, he can check this fw-revision, author1 can see that document and answer comments and fix the article.

Bug1: Author1 can not invite author2 to see the comments and help in the writing.

In the following, author1 re-submits the article.

Bug2: Editor logs and he sea an older version instead of the resubmitted article. He invites reviewers and the reviewers also see an older FW-reversion. This revision is a copy of the document with comments but before edit and answer of comments by the author1.

Blind peer-review

Feedback from meeting with MDA/HSR on 2017-06-08.

Requirement for double blind peer-review:

  • Remove names from original authors
  • Make names of peer reviewers not visible to original authors

@sadeghiafshin You will have more of an idea where this should best be done (in this FW plugin or the OJS plugin).

Sometimes communication between OJS and FW does not work

@sadeghiafshin has reported that it happened to him during a second review round (at what stage exactly?).

@PhilippMayr has reported that submitting a review from within FW in the first review round did not appear in OJS.

In both cases I tried to reproduce the errors, but it did work for me and I could not reproduce the error that had previously been experienced. Chances are that there is a complex bug that depends on other variables (is the user using a specific OS, waiting for Y amount of time before submitting, etc.).

Task is to:

  1. Experiment until the exact circumstances that trigger the failure are found.

  2. Fix the bug.
