Sebald Heyden Formulae Colloquiorum Puerilium and the Greek translation of Martin Ruland the Elder

A repository for a digitisation effort of Sebald Heyden Formulae Colloquiorum Puerilium (1527) and the Greek translation of Martin Ruland the Elder (1556). A HTML version is provided here.

This text is being prepared as part of the Greek Learner Texts Project.

Both the Latin text and Greek translation are new critical editions by Fergus Walsh.

Textual Note

This edition does is not a full scholarly or critical edition (for which see this project), but rather aims to be an edition that can be used by students of Latin and Ancient Greek. I have not refrained from emending Ruland's Greek translation where I judged his Greek to be unidiomatic or ungrammatical. These emendations are shown next to the original text in an in-line apparatus criticus in square brackets. Angled brackets < > show text that I have added. The obelisk † marks a word that cannot be transcribed from the source scan.

Progress

  • recension: done
  • digitisation: done
  • English translation: coming soon!
  • vocabulary and other analysis: for the future
