Summary

Inspired by the foundation laid by TriviaWithFriends, our fork, TriviaBattle, extends the original game to support real-time multi-player games.

TriviaBattle is a great way to challenge your friends to trivia showdowns! Finally figure out which one of you has more random knowledge of the world! TriviaBattle will keep track of your success (or lack of success) answering questions over time, so you can always check-in on your stats. Jump right in and see how you do!

We used the MEAN tech stack to create TriviaBattle: Mongoose, Express, Angular, and Node. To implement live, synchronized updates to all players, we used Socket.io.

From within the root directory:

Change format to multiple choice

Friends: Lag on showing 'trivia/startgame' view.

When the first player initiates "Create Game" there is a lag in updating the view to the next 'startgame' view in the 'trivia' sequence.

Friends: show every player in the game the same question set.

Right now, each player is getting a random selection of 10 of the 150 questions, but all players in one game should get the same questions.

Make it mobile

Modify scoring

• Current scoring doesn't seem accurate in terms of number of questions considered answered correctly
• Very high points are given to a correct answer

Friends: 'trivia/startgame' view occasionally does not display Start button.

Start button did not show up one time for the player upon 'create game' -> startgame view.

Friends: on end game, wait for all players to finish

We need to wait for all players to finish answering all questions, and make sure we have the correct end scores for everyone to display at the end.
