Need to structure on how to finish all works on time.
Probably, might as well need to list all the subtopics and reschedule time
to work on on 2nd assignment.

Product Info and Costing - PCB Fabrication

Aiman, do you know the approximate price for general PCB fab? Reply here.

Manufacturer wants specific detail of PCB including the layout to get a
price quote. I don't even know what kind of PCB
material/soldering/microwave or not to choose.

Product Info and Costing - RFID Tag and Scanner

I've check the RFID technology. I think Aiman and I are both very new in
this technology. These are few points to note regarding RFID:
- It operated at 4 different main frequency band. UHF is the best for our
application as it can provide detection till 3 meters
(http://www.labelnz.com/Introduction_to_RFID.html). Data transfer rate
might not be an issue for our tagging.
- Passive RFID, from my understanding, is not an issue as we can provide
larger antenna at the scanner/decoder. I don't think it is large enough
that it take longer than a palm size. Regardless, implementing the scanner
at a wand would be a feasible option.
- In NZ, RFID is largely used in agriculture as opposed to healthcare. In
fact, venturing RFID products in NZ is more feasible compared to some other
countries. <- This is one of our point why choosing RFID instead of other
technologies such as barcode or braille tag.
- Here's the links I found regarding the supplier - Peacock Bros.NZ, a
label company - not really RFID manufacturer. I think they're the reseller.
Anyway, I've emailed them to get the price quotes regarding RFID tags and
scanners. http://www.labelnz.com/AD_UHF_RFID.html
- There're companies in China
(http://www.madeinchina.com/2789705/P6018692/Rfid-Tag-About-Hf.shtml) I
think they can provide cheaper tags, but I'm not sure how far the QA and
compability of RFID. One thing about RFID, they don't really have specific
protocol like other radio communication like Wifi and Bluetooth.

Product Info and Costing - Voice Recognition Stuff

Definitely sweet-o-processor! I've seen a bit on their voice recognition
specific microprocessor. Great support, great tools and included voice
programming software. "RSC-4x chips range in price between $1-3 each
depending upon the quantity, packaging, and memory size required." or 2usd
for 100k units. I reckon put 5usd for price threshold. The programming
board is priced less than 100usd.

I've go through a bit of the datasheets. Now I'm really excited to program
this actual thing! Why can't they have a department for fancy stuff like
this in Petronas? even oil company need to have some geeky entertainment.
lol...
