building-a-social-network-with-flutter's Issues
any way we could get access to code to test and break down
I'm a newbie to all this flutter, but loving it on my day 5 of messing with it. Would love some sort of working code to play with that uses your abstract write up...would be great!
Thanks!
Start at _page = 1
Hey,
It's not technically an issue, I just wanted to say thank you for the awesome tutorial! ๐
I have one question however: What changes to the Step 1 final code do I have to make in order to start the page view at _page = 1
, i.e start at the "feed" view? The current version of the code allows you to set _page = 1
, which however leads to the bug that you can't scroll left, to _page = 0
anymore.
Maybe onPageChanged
has to be implemented differently in order to accomplish that?
Does it work with the newest version a Flutter and Dart
Hello !
Thansk for your great work.
Does it work with the newest flutter and Dart Version (May 2019) the version of flutter is 1.5.4)
Thanks a lot !
Pascal
Will you be upgrading to Dart 2
Hi,
Your code and example has been a great help. Do you have any plans to update it for Flutter Beta and Dart 2? The stricter type system is causing the example to fail now.
Initialization of variables
Hi, I am new to Flutter, but is there any reason why to initialize PageController
in initState
method instead initialize it right in the declaration?
class _MainPageState extends State<MainPage> {
...
// why not this way?
PageController _pageController = new PageController();
...
// why this way
@override
void initState() {
super.initState();
_pageController = new PageController();
}
...
}
Make a slightly transparent colored Overlay over an image, that fit phone's screen
I tried using Expanded for the transparent background, but it made all the child increase.
I know if i search very hard i will achieve that, but nothing is better than from an experts instruction
Possible to Integrate with List View?
Hello,
Thank you for sharing your approach to carousel. However I am currently using ListView to display the widgets on each page and have not found a way to integrate PageView in the way that you've implemented it.
For example, in this example I am using BoxDecoration to implement a single, static image:
return new MaterialApp(
title: 'Flutter Demo',
home: new Scaffold(
body: new Container(
decoration: new BoxDecoration(
image: new DecorationImage(
image: new AssetImage('images/dog.jpg'),
fit: BoxFit.cover,
),
),
child: new ListView(
children: [
style360Logo,
titleTextSection,
subtitleTextSection,
getStartedButton(),
],
),
),
bottomNavigationBar: footer,
),
);
This does not interfere with ListView. However, when I have tried to add PageView to the body property, there doesn't seem to be any way to do it, other than wiping out the whole body container and starting from scratch. Any ideas?
Did you build Social Logins?
Did you build social logins into your apps? Can you share your experience of working with Google, Facebook and LinkedIn logins? Thanks.
