vscode-settings.json's Introduction

Visual Studio Code Personal Preference Settings

  1. Replace your settings.json with the settings.json from this repository.
  2. Install the extension manager extension via: "ext install extension-manager".
  3. Run "Install Missing Extensions" to install missing extensions from the list defined in settings.json.
  4. Reopen VS Code to activate extensions.
  5. Select your icons via: File > Preferences > File Icon Theme > VSCode Icons

Settings File Locations

Depending on your platform, the user settings file is located here:

  • Windows %APPDATA%\Code\User\settings.json
  • Mac $HOME/Library/Application Support/Code/User/settings.json
  • Linux $HOME/.config/Code/User/settings.json

The workspace setting file is located under the .vscode folder in your project.
