It runs fine if I specify cores=1

I expect this is because of the Deterministic nodes. You could try removing some of those. Otherwise you're going to have to give more details about what your model looks like and what you've tried.

I’ll push a notebook later this evening and point you to it. It would be great if you could write a few words in the documentation on which numbers to change in the sampling and tuning steps. My model didn’t converge with the default parameters but then i wasn’t sure what to do next.

Sounds good. I'll try to add something like that at some point, but the place to start for real is the PyMC3 docs. All this package does is provide the tools needed to use PyMC3 for exoplanets. I'm trying to write astro friendly intro docs, but there's also a lot of more complete docs on the PyMC3 site that talk about tuning and convergence.

I think the answer to this problem is that I don't need to save all the light curves.

Although this sampling didn't really work as the number of effective samples is very low

I'm going to close this as I understand what is going on. The memory issue is that if I run lots of chains I can't store all the light curves.
