This error is raised when the Gaussian Process hyper parameters end up in a part of parameter space that is numerically unstable. This can include places where the length scale is shorter than the cadence or much longer than the baseline, as well as others. The best approach is to adjust the priors and initializations for the log_*_gp parameters, and you can also add the quiet=True parameter when instantiating the GaussianProcess, but that generally just hides the issue.
