Hi,

the tp_smapi module caused consistent kernel panics for my laptop.
I got a new battery from Lenovo, as Ubuntu trashed mine in less than 6 months (only 25% of original capacity left), and didn't want to kill this one too (batteries are expensive).

I ended up writing a script that would warn me when to plug in/unplug the recharger manually... and then I found this.

To me, it was a complete lifesaver. So... thank you. I think this utility deserves a GUI (would you want it?). I also think that it should be extended to support as many laptops as possible. For example, I am getting:

Get BAT0 start.
get_threshold: Input/output error

Although the important one, "stop", works fine...
