First Kotlin project!!!

Note: I am now adding DI & Rx. I wanted to learn the core fundementals before I jumped into the helpers.

Opinion about Kotlin

To start, Kotlin is amazing and can see why people are switching over. I do wish I jumped into the language sooner but was intimidated and learning MVVM and Architectural Components (which I love). It is an easy language to dive into if the programmer has a solid OO experience. At this moment, I would suggest new developers to master Java before moving to Kotlin because it is easier to comprehend and write without any Android experience(which may change the more I use Kotlin). I am happy to say that I am going to be using Kotlin from here on out.

Goal

• Get a solid understanding of Kotlin (note: so far it is amazing and I wish I converted earlier)
• Using Kotlin and MVVM archecture to build a News application retreiving RSS feeds from news sites.
• Unit Test in Kotlin

Kotlin Stages:

• Retrofit, Http3, and custom LiveLib (Will be converting this to Kotlin as well) for Network connections..
  • Unit Test with Kotlin
• Room database
  • Unit Test with Kotlin
• UI and Data Handling (data binding with Arch Components)
  • ViewModels, Fragmentation, RecyclerAdapters...
• Dependency Injection (Dagger)
• RxJava
