NEWS APP REST API

This project happens to be a Java/Spark application with a REST API for querying and retrieving scoped news and information that includes news,articles, posts that are available to all employees and also one can request for news that belong to a specific department.

Description

A Java/Spark application with a REST API for querying and retrieving scoped news and information thats is news,articles and posts.They are available to all users without navigating into any department, and others that are housed or classified within departments.

Setup/Installation Requirement

• 1.Clone this repo to your documents folder.
• 2.Install gradle.
• 3.Open the project on IntelliJ and use the following command to run the app "$ gradle run".
• 4.Lastly use postman to try to send and also to retieve data from the database.

DATABASE NAME

• 1.\c news_information;
• 2.\c news_information_test;

CREATE TABLES

• 1.Navigate to main/resources/db
• 2.Run psql < create.sql

DROP TABLES

• 1.Navigate to main/resources/db
• 2.Run psql < drop.sql

Known Bugs

There are no known bugs yet but at the time this project was made, UIs was not a major concern.

Build

Run build to build the project. The build artifacts will be stored in the dist/ directory.

Running unit tests

Run ng test to execute the unit tests via [gradle]
