angular2-community-faq's Issues

IDE suggestions

I've seen a bunch of people asking this. Perhaps we could also link to some tutorials for getting running in Visual Studio, because it seems a lot of people can't figure that out.

Gather best/good practices

We know about a few ones

  • Don't use EventEmitters in services. More generically don't subscribe to them. I have an answer in SO explaining it.
  • Don't handle the DOM directly using nativeElement, instead use Renderer. Although it's specified in the docs there are no really good examples of its usage. I have another answer in SO for this subject.
  • Don't use Subject (or avoid them as much as possible)

What do you think?

shims and polyfills

Other options for polyfill loading that may have benefits over Angular 2 quickstart suggested approach.

polyfills.io service (for IE and Safari)
core.js vs es6-shims + reflect-metadata
specific core.js components needed for IE (webpack instead of CDN)
IE specific shim (just the special func name)
zone.js vs angular2-polyfills
loading order
ignoring ng2 package.json versions
