A Python Secret Santa script that emails participants.

Installation

pip install -r requirements.txt

Configuration and usage

Edit people.txt file and add the participants there. Then run

./santa.py go [email protected] --smtp-server=your.smtp.server.com --smtp-username=your_username --smtp-password=p4ssw0rd

Notice that your smtp server needs to accept sending emails from your Santa's address ([email protected] in the example)

Testing

Run this command to see how it works:

./santa.py test

Run this command to send example emails to a specific email:

test --send-email [email protected] [email protected] --smtp-server=your.smtp.server.com --smtp-username=your_username --smtp-password=p4ssw0rd

Personalizing the email

Edit templates/email.html file. It's just a simple HTML Jinja2 template with two parameters:

• {{ name }}: Receiver name
• {{ receiver }}: The person the receiver should do a present to
