devyoutubelist's Issues

Add channel "Context Free"?

Hi! I was wondering if you take requests for additions.

I started a channel a couple of months ago called Context Free, currently with just 125 subscribers.

I focus primarily on programming languages, including design, history, and coding sessions to demo features in and across languages. My goal is to be useful to both new and experienced programmers (including programming language designers).

Upgrade?

Hey Erik!
I just found this very nice resource! Thank you for creating it!

I have a quick question: I moved over the 1k subs limit recently. It is ok if we put my channel into the "tutorials" section? 😃

I also do Live Streaming (planning to be more consistent)

Thank you!

Github workflow fails for a link that results in 404

Hi everyone 👋,

I noticed the GitHub Workflow for checking the markdown links is failing with this link, since it results on a 404 response. Is the correct link for this channel this one?

I double-checked and saw @codyseibert added it to the Up and Coming section, so I just wanted to make sure if the link is correct.

Would love your feedback 🙂,
Thanks.

Error in language list

awesome resource. but "Brazilian" isnt a language, they speak Portuguese in brazil (and in 6 other countries). cheers

Add channel (approx. 50:1 like:dislike ratio; 1.4k subscribers in 4 months; )

I started a YT channel 4 months ago focusing on software founders and indie-hackers. Most videos are a behind-the-scenes tour of how I built and grew a web-app that supported me for ten years. A combo of big picture code stuff (e.g. error tracking, data integrity, CI testing) and a dose of Vim.

I think your category "English/Informational" is the best fit, followed by "Live Coding" (I demo everything live — e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=futay9NjOac) (I'm working on subtitles ATM to be more inclusive)

The channel on YouTube is here:

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC17mJJnvzAa_e9qQqLIfIeQ

As for size, I'm at 2.4k subscribers between YouTube and email on-site (https://www.semicolonandsons.com/)

Russian web-dev youtubers (with my comments)

Where is amazing Вадим Макеев channel ?

  1. Вадим Макеев - Vadim Makeev is creator of Emmet and head teacher in HTML Academy most famous school in Russia
  2. Веб-стандарты - popular regular podcast with latest news about web-dev

Speaking about podcast:
3. Фронтенд Юность - news, interviews with frontenders, toxic jokes and bad words

Also recommend to add:
4. JavaScript.Ninja - channel of Gitlab senior programmer

Some comments about channels in section:
Владилен Минин - man, who mostly retelling official documentation (better to read it for yourself)
Гоша Дударь - some kind of lamer (not recommended imho)
ExtremeCode - satiric channel
Senior Software Vlogger - good channel for programmers, but mostly not about frontend
Sorax - last video 3 years ago
w23 - he is computer engineer (C/C++ etc).

Removing channels

I have a question. What would be a valid condition for removing a channel from the list?

Mega Meter, fully loaded mega meter of Dev YouTubers.

  • First, I'm glad that you made this list of Dev YouTubers, I was looking for one for a very long time.
    There is one problem; this list doesn't tell me which technologies these YouTube channels specialize in.
  • Second, I would like to list some channels here that I couldn't find in your list, with their specialization :-
    • The Cherno ; C++/Visual Studio
    • javidx9 ; C++/Visual Studio
    • Engineer Man ; C/Rust/Python/JavaScript/Unity
    • Two Minute Papers ; PHD Papers
    • The Audio Programmer ; C++/JUCE
    • Jake Wright ; competitive Programming
    • Coder's Tape ; PHP
    • techsith ; JavaScript
    • Programming with Peter ; PHP
    • Seytonic ; (Informational)
    • JAMstack Conf ; Tech Conference
    • Rachit Jain ; competitive Programming
    • CHM Tech ; (Informational)
    • CrashCourse ; AI
    • The Ape Machine ; AI
    • Barry Brown ; Python/Java/SQL/C
    • CppNuts ; C++/Advance C++
    • Coding Walnut ; C (Up And Coming)

I hope you will add these to your Mega Meter.

New Boston

New Boston is back, dear. Please remove him from the retired. He is and will be the best. Please make the change accordingly

Little correction

Well I think you should put the people alphabetically or by subs,for example CodeWithHarry has most subs in hindi catagory (1.43 m) so he should be at top

Sort by Name

It might be useful to sort the channels by name (within a category). I believe the current order is random and does not offer any benefit to alphabetical order.

What are your opinions on this? I'd create a PR if that is what you'd like to have.
