I'll look into what PPA are. I've never seen/used them. I'll get back to you.

@kiplingw what would be even better an official package in Debian, then you wouldn't need the PPA as Ubuntu copies what is in Debian.

I agree. But it looks like it's already been in the packaging queue since August 2022.

according to https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/noble-numbat-release-schedule/35649 should also still get in for ubuntu 24.04 but who knows?
