Learning Objectives Part 1

By the end of part 1 of the workshop attendees will be able to:

  1. describe key aspects of spatial data that are important for spatial data analysis (i.e., data types, formats, and coordinate reference systems)

  2. describe what the sf package can and cannot do, including some initial practice with using it.

Learning Objectives Part 2

By the end of part 2 of the workshop attendees will be able to:

  1. explain different types of spatial operations using the sf package in R

  2. apply sf and tidyverse operations to wrangle and map real-world spatial data

Learning Objectives Part 3

Note If you haven't attended part 1 and part 2 and plan to attend part 3, please be sure to take some time to review the material in the repository here before joining. We will assume that attendees participating in part 3 are already familiar with the information covered in the part 1 and part 2.

By the end of part 3 of the workshop attendees will be able to:

  1. apply sf and tidyverse operations to wrangle and map real-world spatial data
