ofxAsio

Implementaiton of the ASIO networking library (cherry picked from boost for use with openFrameworks.

ASIO is a cross-platform library for low latency unmanaged network connections (as such it is often selected for GigE Vision and other low latency use cases).

Compatability

This addon is tested and working with :

• openFrameworks 0.9.0+
• Visual Studio 2015 x64 (Windows 10)
• XCode 7.2 x64 (OSX 10.11)

Requirements

This addon optionally uses:

• ofxAddonLib - https://github.com/elliotwoods/ofxAddonLib

with Visual Studio.

ofxasio's Issues

Bug : Server initialisation exception

If we try to initialise a server on a port which is unavailable then we get an exception.
We need to handle this in a 'more oF' way (i.e. report a flag that initialisation failed and an error to console)

Broadcasting in the same computer

I have tried to open a socket in two client applications running on the same machine and I only receive data in the first instance. Also second application crashes because of an unhandled Asio exception.

the exception:
"bind: Only one usage of each socket address (protocol/network address/port) is normally permitted."
