archlinux-amis's Issues

AMI for Bundle instance cannot be found

I attempted to run your bundle script today, and I got everything working through security group creation.

The bundler wasn't able to setup a bundling host, I presume because it is not available any more.

What do I need to do to create my own bundling host and point the script at it?

Nucleus AMI naming convention

Hi Elliott,

First, kick freakin' ass script! I was just about to give up on running Arch on EC2 when I figured I'd see what all those "Nucleus" AMIs were - and then I got to the github project!

Could you elaborate on the current manifest naming scheme for the AMIs? I'm assuming they're just incremented alpha num values, but I wanted to confirm. Are there any particular AMIs that one should avoid?

Thanks

(I realize this might not really be an "issue", but it's at least a record of the Q+A.)

Kernel 2.6.38+ support

With Xen domU support in mainline kernel, we might be able to use either the standard kernel, or the -xen kernel. There are some differences that caused breaking going from your AMI's 2.6.35 to 2.6.38, and I wasn't able to get a proper boot. If you get this working on a more recent kernel, preferably 3.0.x, you'd be my hero.

DRY up the primary bundle.sh

There’s an absolute metric poopton of duplication, of all sorts, in the primary bundle.sh script. Abstract out the various calls we make; abstract out making a call; abstract out everything we can into functions.
