Conan.io package for Google's GFlags library

The packages generated with this conanfile can be found in conan.io.

Build packages

Download conan client from Conan.io and run:

$ python build.py

Upload packages to server

$ conan upload gflags/2.2.0@eliaskousk/stable --all

Reuse the packages

Basic setup

$ conan install gflags/2.2.0@eliaskousk/stable

Project setup

If you handle multiple dependencies in your project is better to add a conanfile.txt

[requires]
gflags/2.2.0@eliaskousk/stable

[options]
gflags:shared=true # false

[generators]
txt
cmake

Complete the installation of requirements for your project running:

conan install .

Project setup installs the library (and all his dependencies) and generates the files conanbuildinfo.txt and conanbuildinfo.cmake with all the paths and variables that you need to link with your dependencies.

conan-gflags's Issues

Unable to build on windows

The numer of cpu count option does not work on windows.

gflags/2.2.0@eliaskousk/stable: WARN: ConanException: Error 1 while executing cd _build && cmake --build . --config Release -- -j8
ERROR: gflags: Error 1 while executing cd _build && cmake --build . --config Release -- -j8

Proposed solution would be:

if self.settings.os == "Windows":
			build_opts = ""
		else:
			build_opts = "-- -j%s" % (tools.cpu_count()+1)

Package build fails with Visual Studio 2015

For some reason, the 2.1.2 source zip you're downloading does not contain a fix crucial to building on Windows with Visual Studio 2015, which is this line, resulting in

...\.conan\data\gflags\2.1.2\dwerner\testing\build\63da998e3642b50bee33f4449826b2d623661505\gflags-2.1.2\src\windows_port.cc(62):
error C2084: function 'int snprintf(char *const ,const std::size_t,const char *const ,...)' already has a body

Would it be an option to pull the sources via git submodule instead and release a, well, not-quite-2.1.2 version?
