If this was caused by a change in 1.9.6 then we need to figure out which one that was and fix it in core. We should not be introducing regressions and expecting plugin devs to keep up.

Before reporting bug to core, do we not need some more tests ? Can someone test this :
- auto-suggested names are clickable or not
- @NAMEs that appear in status messages (eg. hypeWall) are clickable or not
