emilstabs.org's Issues

Re: Evening Song

I believe those G's should be Gm's in the verses, and the chord progression over the jam should be:

F Gm Am G
C Dm C

Re: Gumbo

There's a lot more going on in this song than two chords and some noodling

Re: Birds of a Feather

Any idea what key center is? Trying to take the bass out for a walk of mine own and leave Gordo's alone. But which mode? Might be overthinking this a bit....

Re: No Men In No Man's Land

Trey plays the riff alternating between the A and C notes, like this:

Main Riff
e ------------------------------------------------------
B -----10-----------------------------------------------
G -----10b11-------------------------------------------
D ---------------10~-----10------10------10-----10^12
A ------------12------12------12------12------12-------
E ---10-------------------------------------------------

Pebbles and Marbles full re-write

Hey - so the Pebbles and Marbles tab on the site is a very, very basic outline of the song. It ignores two main pieces to Trey's original, acoustic arrangement: alternating thumb fingerstyle and a change in tuning (EAEGBE) - which affects all the chords and shapes.

I figure my tab can be included as an update, overwrite, or as an "acoustic version"

file is attached as .txt - let me know if there's a better way. copy / paste in this body didn't look right because the font isn't monospaced.

Embedded Flash (*.sfw files) On Tabs Pages Not Working

I was checking out the Wolfman's Brother bass tabs (which is incidentally on the same pages as the guitar tabs for the same song), and I noticed that the last line included the following:
<gflash>100 40 /vb5/member/wolfman.swf</gflash>

The Good News
A peak at the html that was served up at the member recorded/loops page shows that this worked, though it looks very dated:

<li class="media">
	<div class="media-body">
		<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="wolfman.swf" width="300" height="100">
			<param name="movie" value="wolfman.swf">
			<param name="quality" value="high">
		</object>
	</div>
</li>

A quick grep of the websites shows me that this is not the only instance of this issue:

Hey Emil... Just a fan with an idea for Emil's tabs

I've been using your tabs site to create a series of YouTube videos that basically have aligned the tabs on your site, with Phish performances to create kinda "living tabs"

They use the annotation tool in YouTube, so unfortunately the tab instructions are only viewable on a desktop/laptop and not mobile.

Here is a link to the How to Phish Playlist that I've been working on
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL38ZwelW-Y3S_y7cioEMG66yFUVFwWIyJ

I noticed your site has a few videos of Trey playing, but thought this might be a fun addition to the site to help people learn Phish songs.

Just thought you might be interested!

Thanks,

Michael Fisher

Re: Free

The chord you refer to as D9 is a Dsus2. So the entire song is in Dm, there is no key change. The first intro sounds right. Watching Trey, he tends to play the Dm and A# on the 5th and 6th frets.

Tried To Update GitHub - I Never Needed You Like... "Jam Section!"

Below is the correct outro jam for "I never needed you..."

The outro chords are as important as the end of Slave, so I wanted to send them in....

I'm certain we'll see this song a lot more in the fall and NYE, replacing Character Zero as set closers and and GTBT in encores. Because it ROCKS.

86 |
87 | + OUTRO JAM SECTION IS
88 | +
89 | + C# F# (*Sometimes D#)
90 | I never needed you like this before
91 | +
92 | + E F# A B
93 | I never needed you like this before
94 | +
95 | +
96 | + *"Sometimes D#" - Both F# and D# work, and if you interchange them it will build intensity)

Site is not secure by default

Hi, just nitpicking, but it is 2020 and the site really should redirect to HTTPS since the site has a valid certificate :)

Re: Greyhound Rising

I think the chord progression on the chorus is this:

C         Am             G
Shut down everything you said
Bb               F                            G
Upstairs on your weekend perch, the greyhound rises

submit

I created a new tabs for Emilstabs.org a week ago and it has not been posted to the site. did i submit it incorrectly? please help as i would like to continue to submit more new songs
thanks -Josh

Re: Winterqueen

Such a fun song to play. I add an E on the “to rule those who walk on land” so that A hits on those, E on walk, and back to B on land, and then repeat that pattern each verse. Just my 2 cents. Thanks for all the tabs and chords!

Re: Evening Song

Thank you so much for all the amazing work to tab about so many Phish song!! I can't tell you how I often I use this page. For Evening Song, I think the chord progression goes:

F > Gm > Am

Re: Fast Enough For You

which vesionof the song is this tab based on? WOuld be great to extend solo coverage of major riffs...

Re: Winterqueen

this accentuates the sound of pages keys before solo

e---14-- --14---
B---12-- --12---
G---11-- --11---
D------- ---9---
A------- -------
E------ or even------
