Struggling to get started: "This site encountered an error trying to fulfill your request" about eea.facetednavigation

We disabled widgets for portal type, alphabetical title, and interface, leaving only Tags.
Now the view works.

This is a powerful product, but it seems it's easy to get eea.facetednavigation into a broken state by simply adding an unlucky combination of widgets.

When I enable faceted navigation on a folder, I'm immediately returned to a non-functional view (clicking is disabled and the three-dot spinner is active). I have to manually browse to .../configure_faceted.html to reach the edit page, and delete the hidden default item type and interfaces widgets. This puts the folder in a usable state again.

Do you have the same issues using eea.facetednavigation latest source code (see https://github.com/collective/eea.facetednavigation/blob/master/buildouts/plone4/devel.cfg), because I think this is already fixed: collective@dd777dd ?!?

Ah, OK ... so the behaviour I'm seeing is due to varnish wrongly caching content as application/json? (The commit you link to only sets varnish headers before changing the content type.)

This was happening when browsing straight to Zope as well (no varnish).

I switched to a github checkout and now the default view seems to work OK.

The different display options don't seem to have an effect though. Items are always rendered as

div class="eea-preview-items">
<div class="photoAlbumEntry">
...

(I hope its OK to (ab)use this tracker as a forum while I figure this product out ... please let me know if you would prefer another medium. I thought plone-users is too general to bother everyone.)

This doesn't seem to be a problem anymore so I am closing this issue. If you still encounter problems using the latest version of eea.facetednavigation please reopen it.
