edgetx.github.io's Issues

Taranis QX7 cant power on in Bootloader mode after installing EdgeTX bootloader from SD card

Having issues here, I couldn't flash Edge Tx from computer directly to Radio when it was connected so trying the SD card route. I downloaded both nightly build and v2.5 build to try this on my Taranis QX7 and had the same issue with both. Basically when I navigate to the Firmware and install Edge Tx bootloader then power off the radio, hold the two center trim buttons in and hit the power button to enter the bootloader it just powers up the radio as normal... no bootloader mode.

When I change the bootloader back to the OpenTx version I had the radio can boot up in bootloader mode.

Any idea what could be causing this issue?

Scroll wheel button stopped working

I just flashed 2.5.0 and for a short while everything was fine but now my scroll wheel button press no longer works. Scrolling is fine, just not using it to select anything. Touch screen works. In the bootloader the scroll wheel button works as well so it's not a physical hardware issue. The only thing I did before it stopped working was to add another theme (I didn't even get to select it). Removing the theme didn't resolve the issue. Any ideas?

I just realized I probably submitted this to the wrong location

Companion 2.6 Crashing

When a new theme is created on a TX16S and that theme is put in the sd card contents on the PC, companion 2.6
will not start and crashes. If the theme is removed from the sd card contents on the PC Companion starts without issue.

EdgeTX Touch UI Guide

I think having a short touch UI user guide would really be helpful to have for the official release or shortly thereafter. Eventually, this will become part of the overall user manual.

EdgeTX 2.4 User Manual

We should create a proper user manual for EdgeTX. This will most likely be a large undertaking, but I am sure will be well appriciated by the users.

Jumper T16 Multiprotocol EdgeTX Emergency Mode

Hi, I have been trying to upgrade my older JumperT16 Pro with EdgeTX before I move to upgrading my Radiomaster T16S to EdgeTX. However Ive run into a problem I dont seem to be able to get around. My JT16 has an Internal Module that has been updated with the latest from Pascal Langer. If I leave my models with an internal module selected I get Emergency Mode all the time. Changing the models to No Module or external module it works but of course Ive no telemetry etc etc.
Ive tried everything I can think of including reloading the firmware about 3 times and reformatting the SDCard just in case.
Going back to OpentTX works fine.
What am I missing or is there a problem with EdgeTX and the Multiprotocol Module?

Add the documentation to install DFU utility

Today I installed the awesome EdgeTX using the included doc for the first time, but I couldn't find any information about installing DFU (I'm using Linux). It was easy, I used apt update && apt install -y dfu-util but it should be documented somehow (Linux, Windows and Mac).

ELRS

getting Error unable to install Lua script ExpressLRS

Update docs to stop saying models will be preserved

The installation guide, and likely other docs, says that you can import the models
and settings you've spent years building.

To import your models from OpenTX, copy your MODELS and RADIO folders

I see that as of a few months ago, this is no longer the case. It was decided to stop supporting
migration from OpenTX. This should probably be updated to change the text to something like the following:

WARNING

If you continue, years of models will be wiped out completely, deleted. You will not be able to use them with EdgeTX. If you've put a lot of time into your models, you will be completely and utterly screwed!

Can't flash ELRS firmware on R9M module with Edge TX 2.7.0 (Radiomaster TX16S), works on 2.6.0

I can't flash ELRS firmware file to my FrSky R9M 2019 ACCESS module with Edge TX 2.7.0 on the Radiomaster TX16S.

I can flash the ELRS R9M bootloader without problem but not the firmware.elrs file that gets outputed from ELRS configurator.

I highlight the firmware.elrs and klick "Flash External ELRS" and it waits a couple of seconds, then i get a short beep and after two more seconds i get a "Device not responding" message.

I downgraded to Edge TX 2.6.0 and i could flash the exact same ELRS firmware file flawlessly. So it seems to be a 2.7.0 issue.

How do you update EdgeTX????

How do you update EdgeTX???? i have a TX16s with EdgeTX 2.5 and i want to know how to update it to 2.6.
THX for any help!

Entered in Error, wrong product. Selection of model crashes radio (Emergency Mode) v2.10.0 RC 4 (and RC2)

Since moving from 2.9.4 to 2.10 RC4 one of my models (*MINIDRAK") crashes the radio (TX16S) to Emergency Mode when it is selected.
This is reproducible but only on this model. All the others appear to work fine.

This problem model worked fine 1 week ago when the radio was on 2.9.4

The initial discussion on this is at
https://discord.com/channels/839849772864503828/1238475482589302844/1238475482589302844
... the radio, models files and model image are uploaded there.
[EDIT: and now also there is a link to the sdcard there too]

I have also ruled out a problem with sounds files ( some of which would play when the model is selected) by removing all sounds temporarily from the SOUND folder. No change, this model crashes the radio, none of the others do

I have a second (backup) radio which is identical except it is on RC2. This behaves the same as the RC4 one. That is, the radio crashes when this model is selected.

edgetx-flasher osx version not working

Hi

I just tried to flash my TX16S firmware with edtex-flasher it's giving this error:

Flashing Complete
Waiting for dfu-util...

dyld: Library not loaded: /Users/tormod/dfu-util/libusb-git/../build/lib/libusb-1.0.0.dylib
Referenced from: /Applications/edgetx-flasher.app/Contents/src/support/dfu-util/darwin/dfu-util
Reason: image not found

I guess that dfu-path was stay as hard coded as tormod user so it's can't reach my own user path on my disk

FrSky D8 on Radiomaster TX12

is there a protocol for FrSky D8 receiver available to add to edgeTX on radiometer TX12? Brand new radio with the latest versions of the firmware and SD card files. New to the hobby

Jumper t-lite (betaflight) Lua scripts

Hey there,
The jumper t-lite shows only dashes in the betaflight Lua scripts (v1. 5.0). The openTX version 2.3.14 worked fine with the betaflight Lua scripts (I was told).

Radiomaster TX16s not working with simulators.

As soon as I updated to edgetx, my tx16s stopped working with simulators. The usb is available for storage purposes, but not as a controller. The computer picks it up, but not the software.

Models created in the radio does not appear in Companion and vise cersa

Has anybody experience that any model created in the radio does not download in ExdgeTx Companion. Also, Any model you create in Companion does not appear in the radio.

This issue is demonstrated in the attached screen shot.

I also created a model in Companion and tried to upload it to the radio but it does not appear in the radio. Any idea how to fix this.

I always like to use Companion when I am working in front of my PC. So this App is very important to me. Some might be happy just to do it directly in the radio. But since the App was released for public use, I thought of posting this bug. If its a user error, please let me know.

CompIssue

navbar appears blurry at normal scaling on Edge

I've noticed while using the site that the icons don't look quite right for whatever reason. On Firefox, they look better, but they still feel a little small. Maybe part of the problem stems from the implementation of the navbar itself? It might be best if each button was an actual button, rather than a premade image, same for the text next to the logo.
On a related note, I've created a pull request that moves the markup for the navbar into default.html (#20 ), hopefully that should simplify the job if someone more experienced in working with CSS wants to undertake it.

global funtions

when making a global function for volume the menu on the left shows switch, func, volume, and enable but when doing one for backlight it shows switch, func, value, and enable..

Simulation in Companion

In OpenTX, when running the simulation from a model setup all model parameters and settings are automatically selected from the open model, meaning it does not need to be saved first. This allows for easy testing without changing the saved model.

In EdgeTX 2.8 I found that I have to select the model from the simulation screen, meaning the model has to be saved before the simulation can be run, thereby losing any previous settings unless the model is backed up each time before running simulation.

Can the OpenTX behaviour be incorporated into the EdgeTX Companion??

Yaapu telemetry lost after model name changed

I lost the telemetry screen updates on my TX16S radio running Yaapu script after I changed the model name. I changed it back to its original name and telemetry screen started updating the values.

From the CRSF Yaapu debug and discover sensor page all the packets were coming thru when the name was changed, but the screen was not displaying the values.

I am not sure if this is a bug or feature and who is the rightful owner of this issue, Ardupilot, Crossfire, or EdgeTx?

Please let me know where to post this issue?

Flasher has NO LUA Script selections

When doing SD install there is no language selection & no LUA Script selection. It was all there before i updated the Flasher to the "LATEST" version available today 02-05-22

SD Card Error

I am getting an SD Card error on the activation of the first switch (Arming) and then over time I start getting an 'Inactivity Alarm'. This may be the SD card contacts, but if not, I thought I would place a comment here for you to look into.

Pan and Tilt Setup not working in EdgeTx

I recently converted to EdgeTx 2.8 from OpenTx and my head tracking system is not working.
On my Taranis OpenTx, I have CH5 (Pan) setup as TR5 source and it works with CobraX goggles. But when I switch to TX16S running EdgeTx, exact same setup, no movement.
Are there additional setup required?

Spannungssensor

In der Telemetrie Cells wird die Auswahl von Einzelzellen beim Sender Radiomaster TX16s nicht übernommen.
Anzeige von Cell Sensor wird zwar angezeigt kann aber nicht übernommen werden.

Cannot flash - no long press possible

Hello,

I'm facing an issue when going from OpenTX to EdgeTX. In the flasher menu I did long press the wheel (enter) but nothing happens. I cannot even switch power off or press return in that menu, only thing is working is removing the battery.

What am I doing wrong? tried with the latest 2.7.1

IMG_20220525_091804_1

(Also tried my luck with the edgetx-flasher, firmware upgrade takes just 1-2s and succeeds on paper, but it does not flash anything. Besides, the tool is not finding my SD card. Doing anything firmware related with companion is also not possible when I follow the tutorial)

Documentation for OneBit mode

Onebit mode was added in order fix inverter bug in x9D+ and X7 - we should probabily document what that setting is for and how to configure it.

TX16's gimbal issue after edgetx install- channel 04

Rx stick output channel 04, jitter on centre at -2% and right only reaches 98%. Debug analogue test shows 0,100 and -100 as you would expect if all was working correctly. Recalibrated several times, no change using mode 2. If I change to mode 4, the error moves to the other gimbal. So it must be a software issue with channel 04.

Custom Build Options

How can I create a custom build? I'm on TX16S and would like to enable:

bluetooth
flexr9m
externalaccessmod

Is this possible?

Jumper T18 "No SD Card" error after t18-28cdb40 firmware install

I was running OpenTX on my Jumper T18 and decided to make the switch. I flashed the horus bootloader and t18-28cdb40 firmware, but each time I boot the radio, I get a black screen with "No SD card" in white. I've tried different SD cards, firmware reflashes, etc. I am going to attempt to flash older versions to see if it resolves the issue.

Cannot power-off radio when in checklist

Describe the bug
If there is a model checklist displayed on screen you cannot power off the radio.

To Reproduce

  1. Turn on a radio or load a model with checklist
  2. Checklist is displayed on screen
  3. Try to power off the radio by holding power button
  4. Nothing happens...

Expected behavior
I expect the radio to turn off, same as when displaying warnings (like Throttle Warning, etc.)
