Sorry about that. We just swapped the 3.x docs for the 4.x docs. The 4.x docs are now the primaries. The 4.x docs are still in progress and we haven't yet ported over the plug-in + extension development over. Though most of what is written in the 3.x docs still applies from an authoring point of view.

The 3.x docs can be gotten here:

Hi @TylerJewell, thank you for the quick response.
I'd like to contribute with the che project but i don't know from where I start.
I'm having trouble to build the che project. I have followed the README.md instructions but no success. Where can i solve this type of doubt? Like Non-resolvable parent POM for org.eclipse.che:che-parent:.....

We'd love to help you get involved. The project has not yet hit a beta, so
you will find some missing pieces here and there for the next few weeks as
we gear up to be ready for more public participation. One of the areas that
we will write is a list of things that people can do to help get started in
making contributions. We have a list of areas prepared.

On the compilation - that issue is due to a shift in the library
structure. If you are building from source, it should not run into these
issues, so very interesting that you did.

Things to try:

  1. first compile with mvn clean install -U to do a forced download of
    updated libraries.
  2. make sure you do a git pull to get the latest source code.
  3. If this still fails, then let's build a tagged version - git checkout
    4.0.0-beta-5.

I'm really interested to contribute.
I can make a small material for helping new people to start contributing with this project too.
Can you help me with new areas that i can contribute?

Hi - we did an update that outlines the areas where people can get started in contributing. https://github.com/codenvy/che/blob/master/CONTRIBUTING.md.

We will be able to publish our bug backlog online in a few weeks, and this will give additional areas that new contributors can get involved in.
