r2modman(Plus)

My primary project is r2modmanPlus, which initially started as a rewrite of a mod manager for Risk of Rain 2 that I had created during my second year of university.

It uses TypeScript/Vue/Electron and was designed to be an entry point into modding games without having to have much, if any, computer knowledge prior. The design decisions try to conform to Nielsen's Heuristics wherever possible to ensure that the software is easy to use.

The overall project has been in development since 2019 and remains actively developed as of 2023-11-24.

At the time of writing, the average monthly user count is approximately 80k.

Additionally this project forms the base of the Thunderstore Mod Manager, which has its own user count with a similar, if not greater, number of users.

Now archived, this project was used to aid transitions from BoneTome, an old modding site for BONEWORKS, to Thunderstore.

The project downloaded and repackaged mods from the BoneTome site based on the contents of the download, and produced a usable README to make the entire process essentially one-click.

Over 100 mods were repackaged by other authors using this tool.

Thunderstore "install with mod manager" not working

The download with mod manager button on the thunderstore doesn't function correctly. When pressing the button my firefox came up with a page saying ror2mm protocol isn't recognised.

I manually entered the protocol and pointed it at the r2modman.exe in the bin folder, but when i press the download with mod manager button it opens a new mod manager window which is missing my profile and no mod is downloaded.

Installing mods manually or from within the available mods tab and running the game works perfectly however.

Updating a mod results in a missing icon

When clicking the update button, a mod will update itself.

The update also tries to sync a local mod with the server.

ItemLib failing to install Monomod

"monomod" folder is not extracting, therefore the .mm.dll file is not being moved on launch.

Needs a line of installation instructions

The readme contains no instructions on how to install it, and there is no obvious EXE or auto installer in the main directory.

Several missing icons

The mod manager seems to be missing several icons (add mod, refresh and install) while still having the options icon load while the text icons and the option icon still show up normally

I did drop the mod manager in a seperate folder in the ror2 root directory).

Otherwise, the mod loader works as intended, from downloading files from thunderstore and starting the game with the mods

Says it cannot find libpng16-16.dll and others .dll upon starting the launcher
