could you please explain what is supposed to be done about it ? Duplicati is using a third party library external to the hoster and Duplicati (https://github.com/gpailler/MegaApiClient). If this library stops to work, there is very little that this project could do.

My intention was to give a heads-up in advance, so that a flood of "doesn't work anymore" posts related to Mega doesn't surprise anyone.
I didn't know that Duplicati is using a 3rd-party API - now that I know that Mega abandoning there API seems like a non-issue.

For whatever it's worth, this phrase seems to appear exactly twice on the Internet, on Oct 24. Maybe they're both your posts?
This isn't their usual line (you can find others posted in the forum -- they are really not fond of use by third party applications.
And they have never shared their API at a protocol level as far as I know, but they have and still provide an SDK for C++ uses.

Therefore any third party applications that try to use our API will not work.

Note that they are encouraging third party applications to use SDK as above.
They likely have real concerns about third party applications that bypass that.

MEGA Security Update published on 6 Mar 2023 gives their attitude. They fixed a bug in their SDK, but worry about other uses.
I'm not sure how much weight to put on one support response. If you can get that clarified further, you can ask MegaApiClient.
The quoted answer makes no sense. Maybe they also just don't want to put resource into third party support as you requested.
