The configuration always returns null, because the property selection path is wrong.
The problem is in RequestListenerConfiguration.getListenerId()

Number of threads, timeouts, connection and socket timeouts, socket buffer size, etc. shouldn't be hardcoded.

Add unit tests and functional tests. This is overdue.

Add a special handler for this to get an index file or compile a response at runtime.

Refactor the project so that the core structure (thread pools, accepting connections threads, handling threads, etc. ) is loosely-coupled with the request handling logic (apache httpcomponents), in case we decide to switch to something else.

Add support for handling POST requests to SimpleFileHandler

Add a TestFileHandler to handle requests and simulate fetching different kinds/ sizes of resources from disk. (mock file handler)

Profile the application under different loads and see how it behaves in terms of cpu, memory and number of threads. Could be easier if #2 was done.
