int2intv's Issues

Issue converting Donkey Kong Mattel to intv2

Thanks for starting this project! Fantastic work!

I'm converting some Intellivision dumps from the GoodINTV v2.03 set. Many work with the options in the map you've shown. Yay!

The following converted file although doesn't load in the Intv2 format that the Intellivision core on the NT mini expects to load. We just get a green screen.

Resulting file:

Donkey\ Kong\ \(1982\)\ \(Coleco\).intv
crc32: 83f26f05
sha1sum: 7f223bb11e4bb678be6cbf008a37a847d37b21ac

converted_rom.tar.gz

Also, just for the sake of testing, I went through every single map option [0-9][99] to check the output of converting the file.

As we might expect non worked out.

Happy to provide my jzintv output from running the unconverted file on my local machine if that helps!

Datasize in Map #1, #2 and #5 parts are maybe wrong?

If I look in: http://spatula-city.org/~im14u2c/intv/dl/intv_maps.zip
and compare how 3.cfg is and 5.cfg is.
For 3 you coded EVEN numbers. but for 1,2 and 5 you used uneven numbers: 0x2FFF. maybe it don't matter. but i can't get the expected result.

I am getting wrong CRC32 for Commando which is originally 3289C8BA. Maybe I have bad rom? found same bad rom on two different places :/ fairly sure the tool is updating commando rom wrongly. But I'd like to hear your input!

Also here is more info (thank you tjanas): https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/hash/intv.xml

Converting homebrew

Is there something I'm missing, trying to convert homebrew (have either a rom file or bin+cfg file) tried converting bin as if it were int and tried 0 through 9 on the command, but the game won't work. I think this is probably beyond me.

Suggestion: Functionality to automatically parse memory map from .cfg files

This is a great little tool. Thank you very much. I have been using it to convert homebrew titles to the .intv format. It is easy to use, and the code is easy to understand, even for someone like myself who has not used c++ in ages.

To convert homebrew titles, I have been looking at the .cfg files and manually converting the memory map to the format used by int2intv. It is a simple process, but it takes some time for me to calculate the ranges in hexidecimal.

A nice feature would be if .cfg files could be passed as a parameter, and then the memory map could be automatically extracted.

So far almost every homebrew title I have looked at has had a different map, so the conversion is slow going.

Also, Aardvark has five banks. I modified my local copy to have an extra bank.
