Currently, {'foo.bar': 'baz'} expands to:

{
  foo: {
    bar: 'baz'
  }
}

but {'foo.bar.baz': 'bang'} expands to:

{
  foo: {
    baz: 'bang'
  }
}

so that:

{ one: { 'two.three.four.five': 'bar'}, bang: 'fez'}

expands to:

{ one: {two: {three: {four: {five: 'bar'} } } }, bang: 'fez' }
