Tapoo is a terminal maze runner, hide and seek game. One player hides in the maze and the other one finds them.

Install and play

    $ go install github.com/dmigwi/tapoo

Bug: Game exits before timer goes out

The game is exiting without a warning to the player. The game is even exiting before the timer is out.

Task TODO:

• Evaluate why the game is exiting before the timeout and fix the issue.
• Add a notification to the user in case the game has to exit

Check if the terminal size fits perfectly the specific game level

If the terminal size doesn't fit the current level, smart decisions should be made:

• Reorder the maze measurements to fit the terminal display
• Align the status display messages
• Exit the game and request the user to resize the terminal size (Last option)

Add distinct game levels

The game should have level that starts with the simplest to the hardest of levels. The levels should be listed in a such a way that the players keeps learning and also being challenged to better on every incremental level.

• Terminal display sizes on various computers should be put into consideration while creating the best game level configurations.

• People with eyesight problems should be given a consideration.

Create Scalable and Realistic game levels.

• They should start from the simplest to the hardest.
• Levels should be designed in a manner that allows the user to keep learning/ making progress.

Provide flags that can used to visual improve the maze

• Allow changing the color of the maze background.
• Allow changing the color of the maze walls.
• Allow changing the maze wall types.

Host the game online

• Acquire the best hosting platform based on Prices, Ease of hosting and Security.
• Get the optimum processing power to be set for the Host machine.
• Observe the Load uptake and adjust the processing power on the host machine accordingly

High Scores tracking feature

Since the user will be playing the game online. The following should be the acceptance criteria of this epic.

• The user/player should be able to seamlessly create an Tapoo account via the terminal.
• The player should not be required to login everytime they need to play the game.
• Use that account to track the high scores.
• Add a database to store the high scores.
• Offer a URL link that allow the user to:
  • See detailed list of high scores from other people/Tapoo game players.
  • Edit/update their user profile.
