pyRandr Brightness Adjuster

Allows brightness changing effect without actual controlling of the backlight. If your backlight adjustment is not working with ubuntu, you can try this as a temporary solution.

Inspired by those opensource Linux users who can't yet make their hardware backlight adjustment funciton yet. Doesn't saves energy but allows your eyes to get more comfort.

Added multi-monitor support.

Usage:

1. download https://raw.githubusercontent.com/dkotin/pyRandrBrightnessAdjuster/master/br2.sh
2. make it executeable
3. run

P.S.: My first attempt to mess with Gtk and Python.

P.P.S.: You may need the python-gi package installed so do so with sudo apt-get install python-gi
