fmrepo's Issues

Manage communities

As a researcher, I want to create communities, so that I can have a common space to manage my models. This characteristic has been discussed also in depth among the authors and no consensus has been reached. The idea is to allow the creation of communities inside the repository that could allow to group people around a community. It could be the case of a research group or university that has its own space to share their models.

To use this feature, a registration will be required.

Upload models

As a reseracher I want to upload models in a dataset.
The data set will be the one getting a DOI and therefore will become a deposition
The user can use any structure inside a folder that has to have a specific name (e.g. models)
The system will search for all the models inside the folder
The user won't need to register to upload models
The final upload of the models will be supervised by a double check: catchup for bots and manual processing by email in a pull request fashion. In the manual processing step, an email can be asked in the case the user wants to be updated about the validation progress.
The user will upload the data set, it will be stored in zenodo but only some of them will be validated as "starred" by the validation team.
Some validation rules have to be defined.

It would be nice if a facility to upload from github is provided.

There will be these ways of uploading models:

  1. one by one to build the data set (including only one model)
  2. importing models from a GIT repository
  3. importing models from a ZIP file
  4. importing models by copy/pasting in a textarea

Download models

As a researcher or user, I want to download models from the repository, so that I can replicate experiments or use existing models.

The user can select the data sets that are going to be downloaded. These are possible ways of selecting the datasets/models:

  • In a first sprint, we will only allow to downloads data sets but not single models.
  • in the view of the details of the data set, add a download button.
  • in the list view, allow also to download single data sets
  • you can select with a checkbox the set of data sets that you want to download and then click the download button. This will allow you to download a single ZIP file containing all the folders that have been selected.
  • you can select in a download queu a set of data sets that will be later downloaded (similar to a shoping cart)
